Composting
AL BUCHEERI is in technical collaboration with M/s. RETHMANN AG., Germany for the design, build, operate and own Composting plants. This type of Composting plants will totally reduce Municipal waste and in turn convert it into bio fertilizers for agriculture.
Solid / Liquid Waste
Usage of landfill as a traditional disposal option is under debate. But an environmentally acceptable landfill requires an integrated approach to all aspects of site design, operation and management, encompassing leachate control systems and possible gas utilization. Controlled landfilling of Municipal wastes removes the nuisance of open dumps. Al Bucheeri's skips, compactor and Tanker services in U.A.E. serve to major projects and industrial units where the Municipality is not directly involved.
Toxic and Hazardous Waste
A waste material may be called hazardous when it poses danger to human health or environment. With the growing industrialization, proliferation of waste generation in the form of hazardous and toxic waste will continue. In order to control further damage that might occur to the environment, strategic plans for management and disposal of waste should be considered. The company is in the process of executing an agreement with world leading Halon management company, M/s. HBS, USA, for providing a cost effective solution in this region also.
Hospital and Medical Waste
The management of Hospital Waste is another area of growing concern especially due to the AIDS virus. The increased use of disposable materials gives particular attention to this. Al Bucheeri envisages the need of a project that involves surveys to establish the amount and types of waste arising, the preparation of a comprehensive code of practice for the segregation, handling, storage and transport of the waste for disposal,
and the development of conceptual designs for an environmental impact assessment of the chosen disposal site.
Identifying, Packing, Labelling & Transportation
In waste management, packing, labelling and transportation are specialised jobs, which have to be professionally carried out by experienced contractors. This needs specialised purpose built vehicles and experienced well trained manpower for successful operation. Al Bucheeri has the infrastructure and personnel for these and undertakes all the above operations. Recent project undertaken include waste chemicals from ADDCAP Sadiyat Island belonging to ADMA-OPCO, TOTAL ABU AL BUKHOOSH, BUNDUQ etc.
Leaded Sludge Handling
Handling lead contaminated sludge requires special care and precautions. Al Bucheeri has been handling Tetra Ethylene Lead (TEL) contaminated sludge for the ADNOC group facility very efficiently. Al Bucheeri Staff attended a training programme for TEL Sludge handling conducted by ADNOC Group Environmental Protection and Occupational Health (EP & OH) Department
Effluent Treatment and Disposal
There are many technologies available for the effluent treatment. The use of a particular technology for the effluent treatment, prior to disposal, depends on the nature and type of the contamination present in it. Al Bucheeri has a permanent treatment facility for offsite effluent treatment in addition to the mobile effluent treatment unit which can be used for onsite treatment. We have been carrying out effluent chemical treatment and disposal as per the existing regulations for various clients in co-ordination with Abu Dhabi Municipality Food and Environment Control Centre (FECC) and ADNOC Group EP & OH
Oil Sludge Handling & Treatment
Sludge handling, treatment and disposal are another major area of concern that petroleum industries in the Gulf region are facing. Currently most of the major petroleum industries are using 'weathering' as the method for treatment of sludge. Al Bucheeri has all the infrastructure and manpower for the sludge removal and disposal from tanks and pits by using conventional and/or by non-manual Solid, Liquid Treatment System.
Asbestos Handling
Al Bucheeri employees are trained by UAE Ministry of Health on the safe handling of asbestos waste conducted at the Municipality Food and Environment Control Centre. Our employees have also been clinically and radiologically examined by Occupational Health Specialist of the UAE Ministry of Health and certified fit for undertaking asbestos related jobs.
Halon Management System
Halon Management Systems is another area where AL BUCHEERI is concentrating in view of ADNOC's policy to bank all halons which are being used in Refineries and Petrochemicals and Gas sectors world wide.
